Sleepy Hollow has already given us many fun versions of our favorite historical figures, from George Washington to Benedict Arnold to Benjamin Franklin. However, it looks like it’s time for the supernatural series to now focus on the ladies of Ichabod’s time, starting with Abigail Adams.
According to TVLine, who first reported the casting news, Gossip Girl vet Michelle Trachtenberg will be tackling the role of Miss Abigail (at least that’s what I picture Ichabod calling her anyway), the First Lady and wife of America’s second president, John Adams, in an upcoming episode of Sleepy Hollow. In addition to being First Lady and mother to future President John Quincy Adams (like father, like son), Abigail Adams was also a proponent of equal rights for women and will, at least in Sleepy Hollow‘s wonderfully wacky universe, have a “secret life that involved Katrina Crane.”
In addition to Gossip Girl, Trachtenberg’s past TV credits includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Weeds, Criminal Minds and NCIS: Los Angeles. She also appeared in National Geographic Channel’s TV movie Killing Kennedy.
