Skype is planning to offer video messaging as part of its paid-for service. A change to the beta terms of service confirmed rumors that the Microsoft-owned messaging network would allow its users to send a pre-recorded video clip to other Skype users, with limitations placed on how many can be sent on non-premium accounts.

The updated terms of use mentions about the changes in a section towards the end, according to IT World. “If you are a Skype Premium subscriber you can, subject to the Video Messaging Fair Use Policy below, send and receive an unlimited number of Video Messages,” starts the new rules, which also reveals that non-subscribers can also send messages, though the number of which will be limited. All users will be able to receive video messages from other users, though messages sent or received will expire within 90 days unless they were sent from a Premium account or the recipient upgrades theirs.

Skype Premium currently costs $9 per month, with the amount lowered when paying in advance.
