Headphone maker Skullcandy recently announced its chief financial officer and general counsel plans to resign April 1 to pursue other activities. Chief Financial Officer Mitch Edwards said he will leave to pursue other opportunities, including charitable and humanitarian activities. He will stay on to consult with the company as needed during the search for his replacement, the company said.

Skullcandy, which makes boldly decorated headphones aimed at consumers in the action-sports and youth markets, started out in specialty retailers focused on sports like skateboarding, but have since expanded to sell at consumer electronics and mass retail stores.

President and Chief Executive Jeremy Andrus on Monday noted Edwards’ role in the company’s initial public offering in addition to two major acquisitions Ron Ross, the company’s vice president for finance, will work as the company’s principal accounting officer until Edwards’ permanent successor is appointed.
