Canon’s new  SELPHY CP800 photo printer is the successor to the SELPHY CP780.    The new photo printer adds a shuffle function that randomly selects photos from a memory card and combines them into one 4×6-inch image. The CP800 also adds a new 2.5-inch tilt LCD screen.

The CP800 includes Canon’s built-in Portrait Image Optimize function, with enhancements to the face detection brightness correction and color cast correction to make skin tones and faces look more natural and realistic. Full-color, 4×6-inch photos from cameras connected through USB or from plugged in memory cards will print in about 47 seconds. Users can also print photos without connecting to a computer by printing directly from compatible memory cards or using the PictBridge connection.

Canon is offering an optional battery pack for the SELPHY CP800 printer that makes it useful away from home for instant hard copy photos. Also available is a Bluetooth adapter that allows the printer to wirelessly receive photos from compatible devices such as cellphones.

The Windows and Mac compatible SELPHY CP800 will retail for $100 in both black and while colors. It’s anticipated that battery pack will be priced at $80, while the Bluetooth adapter  will be  $50.
