Scosche just revealed two new earphone sets under its Realm brand. The high-end over-the-ear headphones are made up of the RH1056md in either black or white as well as the IEM856md in-ear headphones in the same color choices. The former have 40mm drivers and use precision-wound copper voice coils and rare-earth neodymium magnets. The pads use memory foam that softens when warmed up to conform to the wearer’s ears.
They are collapsible and ship with two gold-plated audio cables, a case, a travel pouch, a gold-plated 3.5mm to quarter-inch adapter, a clothing clip, and a computer adapter.
The in-ears have a bi-hybrid motor structure with a relatively large 10.7mm dynamic driver for low frequency reproduction and 6.3mm balanced armature drivers for mids and highs. They are made with hypoallergenic silicone, and the soft ear cushions provide a level of extra comfort.
Either is iPod/iPhone-certified and have the company’s tapLINE III control surface and mic for answering and ending calls, skipping tracks, and adjusting volume.
The headphones are now shipping, with the over-ears priced at $230 and the in-ears at $250.
