Scosche has brought out a special docking system for iPads. The bassDOCK can accept either first or second generation iPads in either a landscape or portrait orientation. The dock integrates a three speaker 2.1 stereo sound system as well.
The design is meant almost as a desktop hub and is adjustable so that it can be used as a typing station. It sports two 40mm (1.6-inch) drivers as well as a three-inch subwoofer that accentuates the bass tones. The speakers are modest, driven by a 20W amplifier and with a frequency response between 60Hz to 20kHz. An integrated 3.5mm input jack provides audio playback for MP3 players and other devices that might need to share the speakers.
The bassDOCK is available now directly from Scosche for $150.
