Samsung has announced that its NX10 DSLR camera will soon support the company’s i-Function lenses. An upcoming firmware update will allow users to take advantage of the lens technology, which communicates directly with the camera body to control settings from the lens itself.

A one-touch button activates shooting controls such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance. Users can press the button to access a graphical representation of the particular setting and value, which can be changed by rotating the manual focus ring on the lens.

The  firmware update also  promises faster auto-focus speeds.

Samsung offers a compact zoom 20-50mm lens with i-Function controls, along with a 20mm wide-angle pancake lens. The company will integrate i-Function technology in all of its upcoming NX-system lenses.
