Here is a smart idea, using the Internet connect TVs to give product support and customer service  that goes beyond the 800 number.

Samsung  has announced the availability of the Samsung Product Support TV (SPSTV) channel on Samsung Apps. The SPSTV App allows users to stream Samsung product support content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week directly to their living rooms. It is now available for download on all 2010 Samsung TVs that feature Samsung Apps.

SPSTV is an internet-streaming television channel that provides product support to Samsung customers through its library of how-to video guides, weekly live-shows, and interactive chat sessions. The new SPSTV App brings customer service and product support beyond a toll-free number and into users’ living rooms. Currently, the SPSTV App offers a library of over 150 how-to videos covering topics from setting up a Samsung TV to syncing a Samsung mobile phone with a laptop, with plans to add more videos as new products are launched. New videos will also be created to address questions that consumers have encountered in the past.

Samsung, the leader in connected TV, continues to expand the types of experiences available to consumers through Samsung Apps and a wide range of content. SPSTV joins more than 30 partners, including Blockbuster, Netflix, Pandora, Twitter, USA TODAY and Vudu.
