Samsung has reportedly delayed its launch plans for the NC215S solar netbook, which was initially expected to ship in the first week of July. The device offers a standard set of notebook features, but with a lid that doubles as a solar panel to help charge the battery. Samsung claims the solar charger will provide one hour of runtime for every two hours of sunlight exposure.
The netbook is powered by a 1.66 GHz dual-core Atom N570 processor, while the 10.1-inch display offers 1024×600 resolution and a matte finish. Other standard features include 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive.
The NC215S can be pre-ordered from sites such as Amazon, with prices averaging around $399
