Director Robert Rodriguez has teamed up with tech innovator AMD to launch the VISIONary Young Directors Contest. Aspiring film makers have the chance to win a trip to Austin City Limits October 12-14, 2012 to meet Rodriguez in person, as well as cutting-edge film editing technology from HP to jump start their movie making careers.
Rodriguez uses AMD technology when directing and editing, and in preproduction of his films — enabling stunning visual effects and brilliant HD clarity. Now up-and-coming directors have the power to edit, produce and watch movies just as compelling as Hollywood’s best using VISION technology from AMD.

The contest entry period is March 14, 2012 – June 30, 2012.

HOW:
Contest entrants are asked to upload an original 30-90 second video trailer showcasing their filmmaking vision to YouTube and then upload that URL to the AMD Facebook tab by clicking “Enter Now.” A panel of judges including representatives from AMD and the filmmaking industry will choose one winner based on originality, creativity and the ability to quickly capture attention.
To be eligible, participants must be legal residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) and be at least 18 years of age. All video trailers submitted should be the entrant’s original work and showcase their vision for a future movie. See Full rules here.
