Adobe Labs has updated the release candidates of Lightroom 3.5 and Camera RAW 6.5, bringing RAW file support for 12 new and recent RAW file variations as well as adding lens profiles for 25 new lenses. The profiles help photographers automatically correct known flaws or distortions inherent in lenses, such as chromatic aberrations. Release Candidates are not to be confused with final releases, but do indicate that development work is almost complete and that an official release is forthcoming.
In addition to addressing minor issues reported by users, the update includes profiles for the Fuji FinePix F600EXR; Olympus models E-P3, E-PL3, E-PM1; Panasonic models DMC-G3 and DMC-GF3; Phase One’s IQ140, IQ160, P40+ and P65+; and the Sony Alpha NEX-C3 and Sony SLT-A35.
The Release Candidate downloads are available at the Adobe Labs website. The company seeks feedback on updates, which can be left on its forums.
