Motorola has announced a new addition to its Droid Razr line, though the new device will only be released in the Chinese market. The Razr V XT998 will pack specs and features similar to existing models, including a 4.3-inch display with 540×960 resolution, but with the thinnest build in the series. The handset will be launching in China soon, although Motorola has provided no details on pricing and availability.

The original Droid Razr measured just 7.2mm deep, while the second variant, the Razr Maxx, jumped to 8.99mm in favor of a larger battery. The Razr V maintains the same woven Kevlar backside, however on-screen buttons replace the soft buttons that fit below the display panel on the first- and second-generation models. As an added bonus, the Chinese model will also be capable of connecting to both CDMA and GSM networks.

The new Razr will ship with Android 4.0 pre-installed, along with a custom Motorola skin running atop the core OS. The rollout in China will make the device the first Razr handset to run Android 4.0 out of the box
