QuickBooks for Mac 2014 Adds Toolbar, Tracks Income in Real-Time

QuickBooks-Mac-2014.fw_Intuit has announced QuickBooks for Mac 2014, an update to the company’s small-business accounting software. The update promises a simplified setup process, and a new homepage, which provides an overview of a company’s finances without having to generate a report. A customizable left-hand toolbar should make it easier to get to data and transactions.

The customer, vendor, and transaction centers have been reorganized, for instance allowing the memo field to be accessed just like an invoice number. Users can now also track sales representatives, search within reports, and import journal entries. Perhaps one of the most important additions is the income tracker, which displays a real-time view of income-related transactions on the homepage. The tracker lets people respond more quickly to demands, and send batches of transactions to print or email. Data can be filtered by transaction or customer.

The software is due to ship on September 23rd. A single-user license costs $250; from there pricing scales up to $1,250 for five users.
