Qik today announces two strategic appointments to support the company’s ambitious growth. Bob Rosin has joined Qik as the Executive Vice President of Business and Corporate Development while Allyson Campa is the new Senior Vice President of Marketing. These two new hires confirm Qik’s progress in the mobile video market and position the company to develop aggressively through 2010 and beyond.

Qik is a leader in the mobile video space, enabling smartphone users on Android, iPhone, Symbian, Blackberrry and Windows Mobile platforms to capture and instantly share videos from wherever they might be. Qik’s newest service, Qik Video Chat, allows for real-time video conversations between two people over wifi, 3G, or 4G wireless networks, and is seamlessly integrated with Qik’s video messaging and sharing services.

Vijay Tella, CEO of Qik said: “Bob’s experience in establishing business relationships with global technology brands and driving rapid revenue growth makes him a valuable addition to our executive team. His mission is to aggressively expand our partnership profile across handsets, platforms, carriers and networks.”

Vijay continued, “We’re thrilled that Allyson has also joined the Qik executive team. Allyson is known as one of the best consumer marketers in Silicon Valley and with the rapid growth of the Qik user base, she’ll drive ongoing adoption, engagement and monetization.”

Before Qik, Rosin worked at OQO as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. He has played various integral roles such as managing sales, marketing, business development, venture fund raising, and corporate development. In his new position, Rosin will lead the company’s partnership initiatives with the top carriers and mobile phone providers worldwide. In addition, he will manage strategic relationships with key players in Internet media, consumer electronics, and mobile communications sectors, and help guide Qik’s corporate development.

Prior to joining OQO, Rosin was founder and president of Bang Networks, Inc. and also was a senior business planner for Sony’s interactive set-top box products in both Japan and the U.S. Rosin speaks fluent Japanese and holds eight patents related to network technologies and user interface. He has a B.A. degree Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School, where he won the Dubilier Prize for Entrepreneurship.

“As mobile devices become increasingly powerful and true mobile broadband networks become widely deployed, the time is right for mobile video services to emerge as a fundamental communication and sharing utility for consumers and enterprises alike. I’m thrilled to be joining the company that is leading and defining the category.”

Campa has over 20 years of experience growing global consumer technology brands and an impressive track record for building market awareness and consumer adoption as a part of the management team at four different start-ups.

At MySoftware Company, she helped grow a tiny startup into a profitable, public company. Campa then founded and led Bravanta, an e-commerce company that became the leading provider of online incentive programs. After Bravanta was acquired, Campa joined video sharing and entertainment site, Metacafe, and helped grow the audience to almost 50 million viewers per month. Most recently Campa was CMO at SuperSecret, a popular online game for tweens that attracted 3 million players during a single summer. Campa has a B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

“The mobile video space is exploding and so is the adoption of Qik,” said Campa. “I’m looking forward to helping Qik become established as a mainstream consumer service relied on by individuals around the world.”
