Pokemon 20 3ds

What you’re looking at above is the upcoming commemorative 3DS releasing on February 27th, which is also the date when Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow are re-releasing on the Nintendo eShop as digital downloads. Naturally, the 3DS bundle will come with all three games pre-installed, and they’ll also enjoy a special Pokémon menu theme. Neat. Worth noting that the Charizard and Blastoise here are faceplates, to be clear.

This is all a part of a larger push to celebrate Pokémon’s 20th anniversary, and the officially sanctioned festivities will include a Pokémon TCG Generations expansion with Red and Blue collection boxes, event releases of Mew, Darkrai, Arceus, and Genesect, a new line of Pokémon Center goods, and a freakin’ Super Bowl commercial. Whew!

The 3DS version of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow won’t be remakes, however, they will come packaged with online functionality—which means that those old cable links can continue to RIP.
