Sony will release an app that will let PS3 owners view 3D images from Sony cameras capable of capturing 3D Sweep Panorama images. Called PlayMemories, the app will require an updated PS3 and a 3D-capable TV set.
Users will have the option of zooming in and out of their 2D and 3D photos using their DualShock controller. Sony cameras that support the 3D Sweep Panorama function include the NEX-3 and NEX-5, Cyber-shot WX5, Cyber-shot TX9 and the Alpha A55 and Alpha A33 translucent mirror cameras.
The app will be free and arrive at the PlayStation Store by the end of September.
