Photobucket today announced that their newest application for Android provides the first ever full imaging suite for mobile, complete with automatic upload, content management, and image search capabilities.   “Coupling the simplicity of automatic upload with the full functionality of the Photobucket Mobile application is a game changer when it comes to managing personal photos. Best of all, the service is available to anyone with an Android phone, absolutely free of charge.”

The latest release reflects its recent merger with mobile imaging company Ontela, enhancing the software with the ability to automatically save a copy of all photos taken to Photobucket. This patented, one-of-a-kind automatic backup solution will make it easier for users to share their memories with the more than 2 million websites that host Photobucket images, including Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. It also allows users to browse their albums and popular photos from others, giving them complete control of their imaging needs directly from the phone for the first time. Effective immediately, the app can be downloaded free of charge from the Android Market by searching for Photobucket.

Demand and consumer need for an automatic upload solution is nothing new in Mobile: a recent study conducted by Photobucket found that of U.S. camera phone owners, 94% store images on a website. However, only 26% have ever uploaded a photo from their camera phone to the internet, and only 8% claim to do so frequently.

“By adding the ability to upload all camera phone photos automatically, the time consuming and confusing process of getting pictures off your phone has been rendered a thing of the past,” said Tom Munro, President of Photobucket. “Coupling the simplicity of automatic upload with the full functionality of the Photobucket Mobile application is a game changer when it comes to managing personal photos. Best of all, the service is available to anyone with an Android phone, absolutely free of charge.”
