In response to ideas from their customers, Starbucks has released 2 new apps for the iPhone and iPod touch, the Starbucks Card Mobile Application and the myStarbucks application.
The myStabucks application is designed to put Starbucks at your fingertips no matter where you are located. It has an easy to use store locator that lets you search for nearby stores based on either geography or amenities. The app also includes a drink builder so that you can assemble your favorite drink and even share it with friends. There also a food menu with nutritional information and stories and facts about Starbuck’s coffee meant to keep you informed and entertained.
With the Starbucks Card Mobile app you enter in your card number and your iPhone or iPod becomes you Starbucks card. You’ll be able to check your balance, register your card, and get rewards like free brewed coffee refills and 2 hours free AT&T WiFi every day. Plus – you can also reload your card with any major credit card. And for a limited time, the first time you reload $25 or more using your Visa card, you’ll even earn a $5 bonus. In select stores in the Seattle and Cuppertino areas, Starbucks is also testing a mobile payment feature which allows you to make purchases with your iPhone as well. You enter your card number and your device displays a barcode you can use the same way as your Starbucks Card to make purchases.
