Pandora-LogoThe half-million Uber drivers actively working in the U.S. now have one less app to fiddle with. Uber’s driver app has just been updated to integrate streaming radio Pandora, giving chauffeurs easy access to their favorite stations.

The companies announced the partnership on Monday, saying that drivers will be able to listen free without ads for the next six months. (After that, drivers can either keep listening with ads or pay for a Pandora One account.) Coming soon, the passenger version of the Uber app will be updated as well to give riders the ability to stream their stations through the driver’s speakers. Uber gave Spotify users that same option in 2014.

Bob Cowherd, senior product manager for music and media at Uber, said “it can be challenging to find high quality music that both drivers and riders love — without radio ads and interruptions to the music. This integration… will make it easier for drivers and riders to listen to the music they love.”

The integration of Pandora is available to Uber drivers in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, the three markets where the streaming service currently operates. Drivers can synch the music to their car speakers via bluetooth or using an auxiliary cable.
