NTi has announced the immediate availability of NTi Backup Now v5.5, the newest version of its backup and recovery software for Windows, including Windows 7, office and home networks, desktop and notebook PCs. With the new version, NTi leverages the competitive edge it has gained by providing the easiest and most comprehensive backup and recovery solution with the latest functionalities. NTi Backup Now v5.5 offers a host of new support and convenience features as well as backup performance enhancements.
As the only backup software available in two editions (Standard and Advanced) and a completely modular upgrade path, Backup Now is a compelling solution for budget-conscious individuals, mobile and networked users. While novices and experienced users will enjoy the new time-saving features and the backup performance enhancements available with all four editions of Backup Now, the new features added to the Advanced Edition of Backup Now v5.5 provide even more flexibility and control.
NTi’s Backup Now v5.5 Advanced Edition can backup all available PCs in a network. It also enables users to save backup job files on remote network drives and to restore data to alternate locations. In addition to scheduled backups, Advanced Edition users have the ability to automatically back up data, photo, audio, and video files every time a change occurs and can save an unlimited number of revisions, a specific number of revisions (1-1000) or no revisions. Files are preserved in their native format, so no additional software is necessary to restore files.
With the new “Tool Tip” Button added to NTi’s trademarked 1-2-3 Easy Steps interface, all Backup Now v5.5 editions simplify backup, recovery and data migration. Even users with no previous backup experience can simply select what they want to backup, where to back it up and when. Using the easy-to-use, wizard-driven scheduler, they can even quickly set up unattended backups of all or selected files and folders from local and mapped drives. The software provides automatic media spanning over multiple CDs or DVDs for a complete, unattended backup of the system’s hard drive. Enhanced with NTi’s exclusive Dynamic Drive Support (DDS), Backup Now is updated automatically to ensure compatibility with all popular rewriteable CD, DVD and Blu-ray drives.
All editions of Backup Now v5.5 also offer individual file/folder backup to virtually any system-attached drives, including USB flash, mobile storage devices (micro drives), internal and external hard drives, NAS devices, and more. To accommodate large backups, multiple hard drives or partitions can be used with the software’s Hard Drive Spanning feature.
With the email and profile backup/recovery tools that are included, Backup Now users can archive their important emails and critical data files as well as their current Windows configuration for their desktop layout, regional settings, bookmarks, and more. For added security, 128/256-bit data encryption and password protection are included to protect against unauthorized access.
“Adding compatibility for the latest Microsoft operating systems helps ISVs to stay ahead of the competition and give their customers access to cutting-edge technologies.” said Ross Brown, vice president of ISV and solutions partners for the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft.
Offering true 32-bit power, NTi Backup Now can be used with Windows 2003 Server/XP/Vista operating systems. NTi Backup Now v5.5 is Windows 7 ready, pending the final release of Windows 7 from Microsoft. Details and features are available at: http://www.ntius.com/en/us/product/backup_now5.asp
