The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will most likely be released this year instead of next because Nintendo has confirmed that the game is included in its 2016 roster.

Last month, rumors surfaced saying “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will not be released this year because Nintendo will prioritize the game “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.” However, Nintendo officials released statements confirming the 2016 release, according to Master Herald.

In a recent interview, Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto clarified that although “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U was not featured during the Electronic Entertainment Expo last year, the game is part of the company’s 2016 roster. Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime also echoed the statement, the report details.

The game’s delayed release may be attributed to the ambitious content that Nintendo is aiming for. Until a definite release date is announced, fans will have to wait for updates from authorized officials of the tech company.

Link, the protagonist in the game, will probably remain on mute mode on the Wii U version. While many fans have requested to hear his voice, series producer Eiji Aonuma explained that the character’s silence is part of his personality. He is considering giving Link a voice, but he said he still has to think it over seriously, the report relays.

Gamer Professionals had earlier reported that a leaked trailer dubbed the “First Draft” may contain an announcement from Nintendo about the awaited game. The first 40 seconds of the trailer is speculated to contain gameplay footage of the title, Crossmap┬áreports.

The leaked trailer begins on the 40-second mark and illustrates a father-daughter relationship. The video contains the logo of “Legend of Zelda” without a subtitle.

Nintendo is expected to announce the release date of “The Legend of Zelda” Wii U in the next few months. Until then, fans will have to stay tuned to new reports and take each information with a grain of salt.
