Microsoft this week updated its free Bing app for Android and iOS. The Bing for Mobile version 3.0 app now supports HTML5 for a consistent experience whether using the app or Bing from the browser. It will also make the experience very similar, if not identical, across multiple platforms.
Otherwise, new features in the app include a split view in the maps menu to show both a list of business listings and directions on a map in a single view. This also carries over to driving directions and transit layouts. Deals brings shopping and mobile phone access from local vendors from over 100 sites across the US.
The Video Domain introduced in October on m.bing.com is now available on the iPhone. Android is adding real-time transit routing and news options that were only previously available on m.bing.com.
The Bing team is working on bringing the app to Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 in the future.
