Xbox 360 and PS3 owners who are also fans of Sonic the Hedgehog should be thrilled to know that Sega is about to release a brand new demo before the game launches at retail. The first “Classic Sonic” demo, which launched for a limited time last June, was definitely a nice teaser and this second demo will give players the ability to try out Modern Sonic.

The Xbox 360 demo will launch tomorrow and PS3 owners will have to wait until next week unfortunately. The game itself will hit retail on November 1st, 2011.

Check out the announcement below.

SEGA America, Inc. & SEGA Europe Ltd., today confirmed that a second demo is being released prior to the launch of the highly anticipated Sonic Generations game for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

The first demo, released on June 23, 2011 – the anniversary of Sonic’s 20th year – allowed fans to play as Classic Sonic only. Now the second demo means fans can finally play as Modern Sonic – as well as Classic Sonic again – in the stunning environments of the iconic Green Hill level from Sonic Generations. Demo #2 for the game will be available in North America via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 on October 18 and PlayStation Network on October 25.

Gamers will be able to get their hands on the full game on November 1, 2011 when Sonic Generations finally hits stores for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Windows PC digital download. Sonic Generations for the Nintendo 3DS system will be released later in November 2011.
