Namco has announced the launch of Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids on iPhone and iPod touch.
Available for $1.99 on Apple’s App Store, Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids is a hybrid of genres combining aspects of Match 4 and Shooter gameplay. Developed by Teravision Games, the game includes over 20 levels and competitive multiplayer over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is designed to keep the action intense. The new title incorporates a multitasking element into the traditional matching mechanic. The player collects ammo by matching 4 blocks of the same color and then uses the ammo to destroy the falling spiders on the right side of the screen. Different color blocks provide special attacks which can be used to blow away the oncoming spiders.
“We wanted to add some intense action to the usual Match-3 genre. Fans will be addicted to the fast-paced gameplay and unlocking powerups,” said Jonathon Kromrey, general manager of Apple Games for Namco Networks.
