Geodesic Limited has announced the launch of Mundu Radio for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Mundu Radio is a mobile application that lets users tune into unlimited streaming audio content anywhere, anytime directly from their mobile device. The application is available for download on the iTunes App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mundu-radio/id368709604?mt=8.
Mundu Radio bundles music, content (such as news and sports) and personalization for an easy-to-use mobile entertainment experience. Users can either select and playback streams from existing Internet radio stations, or they can create and manage personalized play lists, enabling users to listen to their choice of music genres and songs whenever they like. A cornerstone of Geodesic’s Mundu suite, Mundu Radio has racked up numerous industry award recognitions and continues to be a top application amongst the thousands of mobile apps available in app stores.
Geodesic has a number of partnerships with leading providers that enable anytime access to an unlimited number of Internet radio stations from around the globe. The recording industry, which had $40 billion in annual sales 10 years ago, is now bringing in just half that amount. At the same time, digital downloads -“ which make up a fifth of those sales -“ is seeing slowing growth. This makes for an opportune market for Internet radio. Forrester predicts the number of U.S. subscribers for subscription-based cloud music services will rise from 2.1 million now, to five million by 2014.
