Today Geodesic announced that its Mundu Radio application is now available for download in the Nokia OVI Store and BlackBerry App World.

iPhone Is Not the Only One with a Store

While Nokia and BlackBerry users have always been able to access Mundu solutions through the web, they now have the convenience of direct downloads from the OVI and App World stores.   “We are pleased that users of Nokia and BlackBerry phones now have easier access to Geodesic’s messaging and entertainment applications, and we are confident these users will continue to find Mundu apps an affordable, simple and fun way to stay in touch and enjoy entertainment on-the-go, ” noted Arvind Venkateswaran, Geodesic’s Senior Vice President and General Manager.

While the iPhone has been gaining most of the attention in North America, according to Gartner, Apple claims less than 10% of the global market share of smartphone users.   Gartner estimates that nearly 44% have Nokia smartphones and close to 20% use a BlackBerry.

Thousands of Internet Radio Stations and Podcasts on Your Phone

FM radio has become very limited, just playing repetitive sets of popular songs all day and most people do not have a radio which can receive the new HD radio broadcasts. Given that, streaming Internet radio stations and podcasts have been the answer for many people wanting a wider variety of genres and deeper play lists. Many people also still think you can only get streaming Radio with a computer.   With Mundu Radio you are freed from your computer to hear the music you enjoy while on the go. You will need a data plan (We here at TOT recommend an unlimited plan from your carrier) or access to a Wi-Fi network to use the application.

In addition to the pre-configured list of stations that play music, news, podcasts, etc., users can add their own favorites to the playlist with Mundu Radio via the web site.
