Through_The_Wormhole_With_Morgan_FreemanThe upcoming Higgs Boson episode of Through A Wormhole Is There God Particle? features thought-leading Higgs researchers; Joe Incandela, Fabiola Gianotti and Lyn Evans. On March 20 in Geneva, Morgan Freeman will present Incandela, Gianotti, Evans, and four colleagues the Fundamental Physics Prize for their work researching the Higgs Boson.

Recently in Italy, CERN physicists presented the first major update to data on the Higgs Boson since initial evidence of “The God Particle” was originally reported on July 4, 2012. The Higgs Boson is a theoretical elementary particle believed to supply mass to other particles.

The data update underscores the unpredictable nature of the particle, finding an inconsistency with the Boson’s decomposition into photons. Evidence of the Higgs Boson is not yet completely conclusive, but scientific opinion continues to strongly favor the existence of the God Particle as predicted by Peter Higgs and others in the widely-accepted Standard Model originally issued in 1964.

This latest analysis is the result of analyzing more than two years of collision data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – the world’s largest particle accelerator located near Geneva, Switzerland.

Research of the Higgs Boson has led some scientists to speculate that our universe exists in a tenuous balance – and that matter will eventually disappear.

Through A Wormhole: Is There A God Particle? premieres on March 20 at 9PM ET/PT with an encore presentation on March 27 9PM ET/PT on Science Channel.
