LTE Has Its First Birthday at Verizon – Xyboard Coming

One year ago today, Verizon launched its 4G LTE network in 39 markets and served 110 million people. In ten days, the high-speed network will be in 190 cities and cover over 200 million people. The carrier goes on to say it offers 16 devices that can connect to the network, with exactly half of them being smartphones.

At this year’s CES with gave Verizon LTE Best of Show.

Another one will soon join this lineup, with the Galaxy Nexus coming later this month, though exactly when not yet being revealed. It will be joined by two versions of the Xyboard tablets from Motorola as well, both of which should have the ability to access the 4G network.

The company hasn’t revealed any other details on these devices, although the Xyboards will largely be the same 8.2- and 10.1-inch Android 3.2 tablets with LTE inside.
