Liquid Ledger Supports Lion with v2.4 Release

Modeless Software has updated their flagship accounting program, Liquid Ledger Personal Finance, to version 2.4 — a significant bug-fix and improvement release that also adds two new report types, support for OS X Lion, and several other features. It adds a new Screen Mode button for viewing reports without pagination, a new Edit button for editing a report’s date range, and “reload” button for refreshing report data.

The release brings many fixes and improvements to the program, including an issue with importing OFX data from financial institutions in Lion that has now been fixed. Users can now hold the Option key when clicking on the Account info button to show a list of all possible account types, and entering a check number for a transaction now automatically updates the transaction’s type properly.

Version 2.4 adds two new report types, “Cash Balance” and “Unassigned Transactions.” It also changes the keyboard command for “Hide Selection” to command-option-J, as the old command conflicted with OS X’s “Hide Others” command. MobileMe backups now properly store themselves on the user’s iDisk, and selecting the previous or next transaction in an account no longer causes the Transfers pop-up window to enter Edit mode.

In addition, a wide range of issues have been fixed, including a problem where it was possible to crash the program by dragging and dropping a transaction onto itself and a number of memory leaks that would cause crashes after prolonged use.
