Kyocera Brings Innuendo to Sprint

Kyocera and Sanyo have announced the immediate availability of Innuendo through Sprint retail channels. At rest, Innuendo sports a high-gloss blue finish. When in use, however, a   glow-thru dial pad and sub-display come to life and the phone opens to reveal a vivid 2.8-inch WQVGA internal display with full QWERTY keypad and quick access to customized features. Innuendo puts both entertainment and productivity front and center with a music player, 3.2 MP camera and video camcorder plus threaded text and picture messaging and “push” email from the most popular services.

Offering numerous ways to stay entertained and connected, Innuendo allows users to watch Sprint TV or YouTube videos; listen to music that’s been side-loaded on the 1GB microSD memory card (included with phone) or downloaded from Sprint’s music store application; update social media sites; play games or send favorite pics with Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). Innuendo users also have access to thousands of additional downloadable applications through GetJar, including games, social media, messaging and entertainment.

The handset’s external dial pad and OLED display glow through the external mirrored surface, then “disappear” when not in use. A proximity sensor automatically disables the external keys when close to the face to prevent accidental dialing. To help ensure Innuendo is personalized for each individual user, Sprint One Click brings favorite features right to the main screen, allowing selection of 15 of the most often used features such as social media (Facebook), sports (ESPN), news (CNN), entertainment (E! Online) and so much more.

Innuendo also supports “push” email from popular sites such as Yahoo!, Google, AOL, MSN as well as IMAP/POP3 accounts and select corporate email servers. The phone keeps track of both personal and work calendars with calendar sync, offers to-do lists, event reminders and some attachment viewing.

“In designing Innuendo, we took our very popular Sanyo Incognito and improved on it in every way,” said Yasuhiro Oishi, vice president of sales & marketing at Kyocera Communications Inc. “The glow-thru keypad is striking as it comes to life and activates a phone that elegantly blends fashion and style with entertainment, messaging and social networking. This is a powerhouse phone at a fantastic price.”

Innuendo offers several family-friendly applications such as Parental Controls, Sprint Family Locator, Social Zone and GPS Navigation. Sprint Family Locator uses GPS technology to locate a child’s phone and displays the location on an interactive map. One-click menu options allow quick access to Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and several other social media sites from the handset.

Innuendo is available in all Sprint retail channels including http://www.sprint.com and 1-800-Sprint1 for just $49.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade, two-year service agreement, after a $50 mail-in rebate (taxes excluded).
