Stairways Software has now made available version 5.0 of Keyboard Maestro for Mac. What is basically a macro creating program for the Mac OS X is now enhanced with new features but without added complexity, its maker touts. New features include While loops, Pause Until controls, If/Then/Else statements, permanently-stored variables, and a full calculation engine, among others.
The application launcher that first showed up in Switcher Maestro is in version 5.0 as well. Users also now have the ability to add Favorites, send clipboards to another Mac and get a new Quick Look function to find macros. A large and new database of built-in macros are also present and ready to use. Fixing mistakes is easier thanks to a new Undo/Redo feature.
New customers can purchase Keyboard Maestro 5.0 for $36. Owners of Maestro 4 can upgrade to the latest version for half price, or $18. Those who bought the software after March 1 of this year get the upgrade for free. It requires Mac OS X 10.6 or newer and an individual license is good for up to five computers.
