Johnny Depp is negotiations to star in Lionsgate’s Mortdecai, an adaptation of “The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery” by Kyril Bonfiglioli.
Depp will be reuniting with Secret Window writer/director David Koepp on the project. Koepp will direct the movie from a script he wrote, working off an original draft by Eric Aronson.
Depp will star as Charles Mortdecai, a debonair art dealer and part time rogue who “must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.”
