Digital Chocolate today announced the launch of Island God on Facebook. Island God will give users the chance to rule over their own patch of paradise and control a tribe of worshipers on the leading social networking site.
“Island God brings a new angle to social gaming,” said Marc Metis, President of Digital Chocolate. “It combines open gameplay, exploration, and humor with the unique social aspects of Facebook.”
Island God allows players to lead their tribe of worshippers into prosperity by creating their very own island. Users will be able to customize their island’s look with decorations, buildings, and more. In addition, players will be able to modify the look of their islanders as well as give their tribe a unique name.
Players choose between good and evil as they progress in the game. As the ancient island god, players can use Bless or Smite powers on their tribesmen or the environment. Which power they favor will determine the morality of the user and what missions they get as they progress through the game. Created specifically to take full advantage of the social features on the platform, players can trade and compete with friends on Facebook. Digital Chocolate will be implementing enhancements and upgrades for Island God in the coming weeks including more ways to interact with friends and new content for the game.
