Since Disney’s acquisition of Marvel in 2009 there has long been speculation from fans about if and when we will see rides based on the popular characters. While many special areas and character meet and greets have been confirmed (previously Iron Man with Thor scheduled for appearances this year), there’s still been no official confirmation for a ride based on any of the characters, until now.
Disney confirmed this morning that an original ride called “Iron Man Experience” will make its debut at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2016. Park goers will strap themselves into a vehicle and join Iron Man in an original adventure against evil across the city and landscape of Hong Kong. No official word on if any more Marvel characters will appear in the ride, or if it will make its way to one of the American parks at some point.
