Mark Millar has no doubt left his mark on the entertainment world. Even if you haven’t read his comics, you have at least seen one of his movies, be it KICK-ASS, KINGSMAN, or WANTED (or even anything from the Disney/Marvel Universe which he helped form by writing the original CIVIL WAR comic and forming the Ultimates Universe). Luckily, all his success has not gone unnoticed, as Image Comics has decided that June 29th will be henceforth known as Millar Day!
To celebrate his success as well as the launch of the second volume of JUPITER’S LEGACY, retailers will be displaying their Millar-related merchandise and tweeting the hashtag #MillarDayContest for a chance to win a live Skype session with Mark Millar and JUPITER’S LEGACY artist Frank Quietly. Leading up to the big day, Mark Millar will also be making two stops in the U.S.: the first at New York’s Midtown Comics Downtown on June 29th at 7 p.m., and the second at DCBS in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Thursday, June 30th at 11 a.m.
But what do the fans gets out of Millar Day, you ask? Well, if you’re big on collecting covers, Image Comics will be launching seven alternative covers of JUPITER’S LEGACY, VOLUME 2, with art by Jay Lee, Mike Mayhew, and the Deadpool spawning Rob Leifield. Get your hands on them at your friendly neighborhood comic retailer!
