iHelicopter Anounces iOS-Controlled RC Car

iHelicopter has just released its iW500 RC car. It uses a vacuum to drive on walls and even ceilings, though the surfaces need to be smooth. The vacuum can also be turned off for regular floor driving.

Users control the toy through an free app for their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. iHelicopter supplies is a transmitter that plugs into the dock connector. One of three frequencies can be selected, allowing users to operate up to three iW500s at the same time.

A 3.7V, 200mAh lithium polymer battery is built into the car and can be recharged using the supplied USB connector. A 30-minute charge is said to provide between eight and 10 minutes of play time. LED headlights turn on when the car is moving forward, with reverse lights on when moving backward. Turns power up only the light on the corresponding side of the car.

The iW500 is now shipping for $60 and is available in red or blue.
