Chinese electronics maker Huawei will bring two of its flagship Ascend Android-powered phones to the US market soon, Twice found. One of them, the Ascend P1, will be the slimmest on the US market, it’s claimed. Either will have a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor and ship with Android 4.0 onboard.

The handsets will have 21Mbps HSPA+ radios onboard that support AT&T and T-Mobile frequencies. They include the P1 S and P1, with the former being skinnier than the latter.

Either is expected to get a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a 540×960 resolution, an eight-megapixel camera with 1080p recording, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA and an HDMI output.

The handsets will also appear in Europe before April, with a US release due some time around the middle of the year, company chairman Richard Yu revealed. A CDMA version of the handset with 4G LTE support will come after that.

After the Ascend phones ship, Huawei also plans releasing Diamond-series handsets which will offer even higher performance. These handsets are due to be officially announced at Mobile World Congress in February.
