Handmark today announced it will be the content aggregator for the new Samsung Application Store set to launch on September 14, 2009.

As the content aggregator, Handmark will provide the largest selection of Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 titles in the Application Store. This includes a wide variety of both Handmark created content as well as popular titles from its extensive network of development partners.

The Samsung Application Store will initially open in the UK, France and Italy, with other countries to follow. It will be directly available from the Application Store icon on the Omnia and I8910HD, as well as the Omnia II and OmniaLITE. Supporting both credit card and operator billing, the Application Store makes it easy for customers to purchase and download applications.

“This partnership reinforces our position as a premier developer and supplier of mobile content, irrespective of mobile platform or geography,” said Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark. “We are pleased to play a key role in this new initiative and look forward to working with them to extend this service offering to additional customers and territories in the future.”

“As customers increasingly look to enhance their mobile phones with new applications and content, we are dedicated to meeting those needs through the introduction of innovative new services,” said Lee Kang-hyun Kwon, Executive Vice President head of Samsung’s content service team of Media Solution Center. “Handmark seamlessly delivers on these needs providing our customers with instant access to an extensive catalogue of major titles from launch, enabling them to benefit from a richer mobile experience.”
