Google has just released the Androidify app for Android 2.1 or newer handsets that will let user create their own avatar of the popular Android mascot. The free app is now available for download and is very similar in concept to the Mii avatar system on theĀ  Wii console. Users can also create Android mascots for their contacts, friends and family as well as themselves.

There are a number of parameters that can be customized, including height, width, facial hair, clothes, hairstyles and skin tones. Accessories, such as a parrot and hat, are also available and in line with Google’s wacky sense of humor. Google developed the app in conjunction with Larva Labs.

The Androidified creations can be shared with friends or used for contacts’ photos.
