“Goodnight Moon,” the perennially best-selling children’s classic that has lulled countless toddlers to sleep, is now on sale as an interactive app, HarperCollins said on Thursday.

The bedtime story, written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd, was first published in 1947. It has sold more than 60 million copies since then, becoming a fixture in almost every American home with a child. The app, which is available on iTunes for $4.99, is being produced in conjunction with Loud Crow Interactive, a publisher of digital children’s books including Peanuts, PopOut! and Boynton’s Moo series.

Along with narration and a piano soundtrack, the digital version will feature a “magnifying glass” technology that will let children search for hidden objects. There will also be a way to personalize individual versions of the book through doodles and photographs.

“It has been an absolute delight to re-imagine Goodnight Moon as a fully interactive app,” says Calvin Wang, the founder and president of Loud Crow Interactive.

Two educational add-ons, a Goodnight Moon alphabet book and a counting book, are also available for purchase.
