Gary Shore has come on board to direct Cross Creek’s historical epic about the illustrious Nobel Family, The Great Game.

The original screenplay, by two-time Blacklist honoree Bryan McMullin, is a hauntingly nostalgic tale of a young Emanuel Nobel’s longing for excitement in the shadow of a family of genius inventors and his feverish romance with a mysterious ballerina. Set during the Baku oil rush at the turn of the century, oil barons lawlessly engage in games of deceit, espionage, and murder to build oil empires and happens to paint a poignant comparison to today’s cultural climate.

Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver and Jason Seagraves are producing as well as Maurice Fadida, who brought the project to Cross Creek Pictures. The producers are closely collaborating with the Nobel family, renowned for the prestigious Nobel Prize, and its global partners on the project.

In 2014 Gary made his feature film debut with the fantasy epic, Dracula Untold. The film was a global success amassing over 200 million dollars at the worldwide box office, becoming number one in over thirty countries. Hailing from Artane on Dublin’s North side, Gary studied film in GMIT and IADT, Ireland, and fine art at Central Saint Martins in London. Gary has built a reputation as a visual storyteller, having directed commercials for global brands such as Gatorade, Adidas, EDF, UGG, Guinness, Machine Zone, Samsung and collaborated with top agencies including TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles, M&C Saatchi, 180 Amsterdam, Creature London, Young Euro RSCG Dublin and Leo Burnett India.
