Game Center, HDR photography Part of New iOS 4.1

Apple today revealed iOS 4. The update will a number of changes, most notably the introduction of Game Center, Apple’s Xbox Live-like gaming service. Users can set up multiplayer matches via challenges or automatic pairing, or take advantage of score comparison or the discovery of new games.

Several other features are also planned, including support for TV rentals, and the ability to upload HD videos via Wi-Fi. In the camera app, people will be able to use high dynamic range (HDR) photography to bring extra detail out of high-contrast scenes.

A number of bugs are being fixed, including issues with proximity sensors, Bluetooth, and running on the iPhone 3G. The update should be available next week.
