Fujifilm’s X-Pro1 has started to reach US shores. The compact digital camera, with the look and feel of a rangefinder is available from Adorama. Other sellers continue to show it as only available for pre-order.
The X-Pro1 is the first interchangeable-lens camera in Fujifilm’s X-series cameras and is also noteworthy for its 16-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, which reportedly solves moirĂ© issues common to many cameras. Exposure control is through the lens with 256 zones, and can be multi-, average-, or spot-metered. Its initial lens choices are all fixed-distance lenses that include an 18mm f2 lens currently sitting in stock as well as a 35mm f1.4 and a 60mm, f2.4 macro.
The Fujifilm X-Pro1 carries a price in the US of $1,700. Although just now available in this country, the camera has been available in Japan since February.
