Foursquare Will Power INQ’s Location Services

Phone maker INQ has announced at TechCrunch’s Disrupt conference that it will use Foursquare to provide its location-based content on handsets in the future. The Foursquare INQ phone will have Foursquare features built-in, including check-ins, places nearby, tips and to do as part of the company’s API. The level of integration within Android is so high, in fact, that users won’t need to fire up the app to check in or explore, said a Foursquare rep.

Other than Foursquare, INQ phones already have Facebook integration, while Spotify is built into European and Asian versions of the handsets. INQ and CloudTouch are still finalizing the deal with the US carriers now. Work is being done to bring Spotify to American phones, however.

Foursquare, which has more than nine million users for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android phones, will come to European and Asian users’ INQ phones in six weeks. A US launch date hasn’t been revealed, however.
