Flixster announces the launch today of its  app in the new Chrome Web Store.

“Flixster’s app for Google Chrome takes what we’ve learned on mobile devices and brings it back to the web. With more than twenty-three million users on mobile devices, we’ve learned how much they care about speed, interface and discoverability,” says Flixster co-founder and CEO Joe Greenstein. “We created this app using H L5, making it the fastest version of Flixster we’ve built yet.”

“The web has become an incredibly powerful platform for innovation, allowing users to do much more online than they ever imagined,” adds Sundar Pichai, VP of product management for Google Chrome. “The Chrome Web Store showcases the power of the open web and we’re excited to have Flixster  as a part of it.”

The Flixster web app is built using H L5, and takes advantage of the latest features including user-location, local storage, integrated video and more. Moviegoers who download the app can access movie show times, theater listings, Flixster user reviews, critic reviews from RottenTomatoes.com and more than 20,000 movie trailers, photo galleries and other media. The Flixster application will be available in the Chrome Web Store or on the web.
