The first trailer has finally arrived for The Predator, from filmmaker Shane Black (The Nice Guys, Iron Man 3) offering his take on the Predator franchise – something he’s familiar with having a small role in the 1987 John McTiernan-directed original.
Black directs and co-wrote this new film with Fred Dekker which serves as a sequel and minor reboot. In this version the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.
When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race. Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Edward James Olmos, Jake Busey, Alfie Allen and Yvonne Strahovski star in the film which opens September 14th.
