All the die-hard fans of Formula One out there jumped through the roof with joy when the F1 video game first came out in 2009, and each year they eagerly await for the latest version. F1 2011, the sequel to the BAFTA award-winning F1 2010 game is in the works at the British video game developers Codemasters for multiple gaming consoles.

Te company has already confirmed the F1 2011 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows, which are to be shipped starting September 20.

However, Codemasters has now revealed it readies handheld editions for Nintendo 3DS and Sony’s next generation portable entertainment system (NGP).

“Bespoke handheld editions of F1 2011 are each designed to take advantage of the new platforms’ unique capabilities; specific release dates for the handheld editions are to be announced,” Codemasters announced in a statement for the press.

Players will be challenged to ‘Be the driver, live the life, go compete’, with wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements on and off track and vastly extended competitive and co-operative multiplayer components. The new video game will feature all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the highly anticipated 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship.

F1 2011 is being developed using the EGO Game Technology Platform, the same tech that powered the F1 2010, GRID and DiRT 3.
