Eye-Fi, the firm that  makes the Wi-Fi SD cards  has revamped its free iPhone/iPod touch app to work exclusively with iOS 4.x.   The app enables wireless transfer,  via EDGE, 3G or Wi-Fi,  from the handheld devices to both a user’s computer and some of the popular photo and video sharing sites on the web.

The free app is only functional for registered owners of an Eye-Fi card who have set up a free account with the company’s website.

Supported services include  Costco.com, Dotphoto, Evernote, Facebook, Flickr, Fotki, Gallery2, Kodak Gallery, MobileMe, Movable Type, Phanfare, Photobucket, Picasa, RitzPix, Sharpcast, Shutterfly, SmugMug, Snapfish, TypePad, Vox, Wal-Mart and Webshots. Videos can be also uploaded directly to  YouTube.

The app uses the built-in geotagging of the iPhone or iPod Touch, supporting programs like iPhoto 09 and geotagging-friendly sites such as Picasa and Flickr.
