Eltima has launched an update of its sync tool, SyncMate 3.1. The software syncs data from Macs to other Macs, PCs and a wide variety of mobile and external storage devices. Version 3.1 adds syncing of images, videos, contacts, calendars, Entourage and Mail notes, folders and Stickies to iOS devices — any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 3 or iOS 4 — and can mount iPhones as a Mac disk for access to the call history and SMS messages on the phone. Dropbox sync has also been added.

Users can sync images, music, videos, contacts, calendars, Safari bookmarks, To Dos, Entourage and Mail notes and folders to a DropBox account, with password protection enabled. The software support syncing to Windows Mobile, Android and Nokia S40 devices, Google and Dropbox accounts and other online storage, Sony PSP and mounted storage devices. The company also offers some free online “cloud” storage space.

SyncMate comes in two editions: a basic version (free) that is restricted to simply syncing address books, calendar data and other basic jobs. The Expert edition sports all the options mentioned above and more, and is available for $40, or $60 for a six-pack family license. Both versions require Mac OS X 10.5, and works with iOS 3.0 and higher, Android 1.0 and later, and Windows 2000 and newer.
