Square Enix’s Drakengard 3 will see a release in Japan on Oct. 31 for the PlayStation 3, according to Square Enix’s Japanese online store.
The Japanese Square Enix store is currently offering a 10th Anniversary Commemoration Box for ¥19,800 (approximately $202.50 USD). The Commemoration Box consists of a Drakengard Novel Prelude, DLC code and an illustration drawn by Kimihiko Fujisaka with characters from all of the Drakengard games together.
The anniversary edition also includes a Drakengard World Inside book that features commentary from Yoko Taro and a story written by Sawako Natori that ties in Drakengard, Drakengard 2, Nier and Drakengard 3. There is also a 24-track soundtrack featuring 8-bit remixes from Drakengard, Drakengard 2, Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant. The included Blu-ray disc consists of movies, trailers and commercials from the previous games in the franchise.
Drakengard 3 was first confirmed by Square Enix back in March. It was also revealed at the time that the sequel is being developed by Access Games and that several core Drakengard and Nier developers are involved in its development, such as producer Takamasa Shiba, director/writer Taro Yokoo, character designer Kimihiko Fujisaka and music composer Keiichi Okabe.
Release information for North America and European markets is not yet available.
